Emily Power Smith is a clinical sexologist and art psychotherapist, and the founder of Empowers Me — Ireland's first sexology website. With a Master's Degree in Sexology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Art Psychotherapy, Emily is an accredited member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), a professional member of the World Association of Sexual Health (WAS), and accredited with the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT).


Through Empowers Me, Emily provides a broad range of services: private psychosexual therapy and sexual rehabilitation for individuals and couples, educational workshops, professional training for healthcare practitioners, and speaking engagements for organisations, academic programmes, and healthcare conferences. She has also featured extensively in media, including television, podcasts, RSVP Magazine, and the Evening Herald.

THE CHALLENGE

Despite Emily's strong professional profile, significant media presence, and a diverse service offering, the Empowers Me digital presence was not structured to convert visitors into clients or automate key business functions:

1. Website Layout Consultancy & Restructure


  • Conducted a full audit of the existing Empowers Me website to identify navigation friction, unclear service pathways, and missed conversion opportunities
  • Redesigned the information architecture to lead with Emily's core value proposition accessible, non-judgmental sexual health expertise giving visitors immediate clarity on who the site is for and what they can do next
  • Advised on a cleaner visual layout separating Emily's five distinct service streams: private therapy, educational workshops, professional training, speaking engagements, and media
  • Improved mobile responsiveness and call-to-action placement so visitors could reach the correct service page and book or enquire within fewer clicks
  • Recommended credentialing and accreditation elements — COSRT membership, WAS affiliation, IACAT accreditation  to be displayed prominently throughout, reinforcing trust for first time visitors


2. Learning Management System (LMS) Integration


  • Assessed Emily's existing educational content, workshops for individuals and couples, professional training for healthcare practitioners, and topic specific programmes and mapped it to an LMS delivery framework
  • Recommended and configured a WordPress compatible LMS solution to host Emily's educational workshops as self paced, purchasable online courses
  • Structured course pathways for key workshop topics including sexuality and ageing, sexual health for people with health challenges, and professional training for clinicians
  • Set up automated enrolment, progress tracking, and completion certificates so participants could access and complete programmes independently
  • Enabled integrated payment processing so workshop and training course fees could be collected directly through the platform, removing the need for manual invoicing

  • Included topic selection functionality, covering Emily's range of speaking topics from sexuality and ageing to sexual skills for healthcare professionals. So bookers could specify their audience and requirements upfront
  • Integrated automated confirmation and follow up sequences to reduce back and forth communication and present Emily's speaking offering in a professional, friction free format
  • Set up a fee and deposit capture mechanism so speaking engagements could be confirmed and part paid at the point of booking, improving cash flow and reducing last minute cancellations
